Frequently Asked Questions
General
What is YeldX?
YeldX is a non-custodial DeFi yield aggregator. It finds the best yields for your stablecoins across 7 chains and lets you deposit with any token in one transaction.
Is YeldX safe to use?
YeldX is a non-custodial interface — it never holds your funds. Your tokens go directly into battle-tested DeFi protocols. However, all DeFi carries smart contract risk. Always use the risk scores as a guide and invest only what you can afford to lose.
Does YeldX charge fees?
YeldX currently charges no platform fee. LI.FI's Composer may include a small swap fee in cross-chain transactions.
Which wallets are supported?
Any wallet compatible with WalletConnect v2, plus MetaMask and Coinbase Wallet natively. This covers 400+ wallets.
Deposits & Withdrawals
Can I deposit with ETH into a USDC vault?
Yes. The deposit modal will show a route (e.g. ETH → USDC via Uniswap) and execute the swap + deposit in one transaction.
Can I deposit from a different chain?
Yes. LI.FI's Composer handles cross-chain bridging automatically. For example, you can deposit Polygon MATIC into an Arbitrum USDC vault.
What is the difference between "Deposited" and "Est. earned"?
"Deposited" is your current position value (principal only). "Est. earned" is YeldX's estimate of yield accrued since your deposit, calculated from your local deposit history.
Why can't I withdraw from some vaults?
Vaults with isRedeemable: false have locked liquidity (typically Pendle PTs past their expiry date). The withdraw button is hidden for these. You need to interact with the underlying protocol directly.
APY & Yields
Why does the APY shown differ from what I see on the protocol's own site?
YeldX shows the 30-day average APY to prevent live spikes from misleading you. The protocol's site may show live or 7-day APY, which can be significantly higher during reward emission events.
What is an "Incentivized" vault?
The vault earns additional yield from token emissions (e.g. OP rewards, protocol tokens) on top of the base lending rate. These rewards may end when the emission program concludes.
My APY dropped overnight — is something wrong?
Variable-rate vaults fluctuate with supply and demand. A drop usually means more capital entered the vault (diluting yield) or reward emissions decreased. This is normal behavior.
Portfolio
Why does my portfolio show 0 positions?
Possible reasons:
- You connected a wallet that has no positions on supported chains
- Positions are on an unsupported chain
- The portfolio API is temporarily unavailable (try refreshing)
Why are some positions in "Other positions" instead of "Deposited via YeldX"?
YeldX tracks deposits you made through its own deposit modal (stored in browser localStorage). If you deposited through another interface, or if you cleared your browser data, the position appears in "Other positions."
Can I see positions from all chains at once?
Yes. The portfolio tab aggregates positions from all 7 supported chains automatically.
Points & Referrals
When are points credited?
Points are credited within 15 minutes of your transaction being finalized on-chain. The cron job runs every 15 minutes.
Do referral points have an expiry?
No. Referral points accumulate indefinitely.
Can I change my referrer?
No. The first referral link you used to register your wallet is permanent.
Technical
Is YeldX open source?
Yes. The source code is available at github.com/finecalex/yeldx.
What data does YeldX collect?
YeldX stores wallet addresses in a Postgres database for the points/referral system. No personal data (email, name, etc.) is collected. Wallet addresses are pseudonymous.
I found a bug. How do I report it?
